Northerly Storm at Sunset

A strong northerly storm passes over Evans Bay in Wellington, New Zealand

Its been a real weird summer in Wellington with howling north westerlies, the occasional cold southerly, & a bit of rain. Not summer at all really…But there have been some pretty spectacular sights to photograph with these weather patterns.

I shot this one around 9pm one night at Evans Bay just after sunset as a storm was rolling in from the north.  Winds were blowing around 80km/h & the clouds were moving fast.  This is all captured within long exposure of this shot, making the sky look very surreal.

I’ve had some large format prints done for people of this photo & they look great. I’ve also ordered some canvas prints too, so it will be interesting to see how they turn out.  Why don’t you order a copy for yourself? Just click here or on the photo itself see the larger version. From there you can order a print or just email me directly.
